To her, the happiest moments in each week
were those in which letters came from home.
It was not until she had got her first letters
that she began to think she could ever liked
Kingsport or feel at home there.

Before they came, Avonlea had seemed
thousands of miles away;
those letters brought it near and linked the
old life to the new so closely that they began
to seem one and the same, instead of two
hopelessly segregated existences.

from Anne of the Island
by Lucy Maud Montgomery

Based on chapter 5.

Anne, Phil and Prissy are at their freshman's year at Redmond College, and they are beginning to get acquainted with the town of Kingsport. Of course, Anne terribly miss Avonlea, and she always reads avidily all the letters that come from home. In this deviation I've imagined her while reading one of Davey's hilarious letters. Davey is Marilla's seven years old adopted nephew, a darling mischivious little boy, who adores Anne because they share the same level of weirdness. As Marilla once said to Rachel: "Anne's answers are even more weird than Davey's questions"

Two words about the room. It's not the blue-one at Patty's Place, but that in the boarding house that Anne and Priscilla shared during their first year at Redmond. I still laugh when I think of that place, because the landladies (Miss hannah and Miss Ada Harvey) were obsessed with pillows and they filled their boarders rooms with them. But there was a rule, nobody couldn't sit on those cushions. I imagined much more pillows in this deviation, but I end up to to draw just a few of them. Anyway, try to figure them everywhere into Anne's room. (Who read the book will understand me ;)).

Sorry, I can't remember where I took the brushes for the carpet's swirl. If you are the creator, tell me, and I'll give you credit.

Anne of The Island, excellent book. I have all eight books about her( even though the last two are really about her children-7th book-and her youngest child, Rilla-8th book. I really like the background in this.

You're right. Have you ever read Little Women(you seem like the type who reads this kind of literature)? I've read it...a lot. I like Jo the best.

Yes, I do ^.^

You get me. I'm simply in love with period dramas and victorian literature.

As for the March girls, my favourite was Amy ;)

I liked Amy more as the book progressed ( she liked art, so I could relate). I liked Jo because she was into writing and well, no other reason. Any other Victorian literature you're interested in? :D
