:ugh:Il cagnolino in realtà è una "cagnolina" e si chiama Sadie. Dovresti leggerlo questo libro, è molto suggestivo (altro che vampiri). Forse te lo ricordi, te l'avevo fatto vedere, era quello con la copertina verde.

It's a fantasy, juvenile story settled in a cornish village in front of the sea. It is about a brother (Connor) and a sister (Sapphire). They have mer blood in their veins, because one of their ancestors had a love story with a mermaid and when they get acquainted with 2 mer people, the misterious Faro and Elvira, they find out to be able to breath underwater. But Ingo (how mer people call the sea) is like a drug for some humans. Especially for Sapphire, who develops an obsessive dependance for it. In Ingo time run more slowly, and ten minutes spent underwater are like a whole day on earth.

Will Sapphire be able to resist the call of the deep? Or she'll get lost into Ingo? I won't spoil you that. I'm sure you will appreciate it if you decide to read the book.

Innanzitutto Ingo è il nome con cui il popolo del mare chiama il mare. Noi viviamo sulla terraferma, tutto il resto per loro è Ingo. Gli umani non sono consapevoli della loro esistenza perchè riescono mimetizzarsi, o si mostrano solo ad alcune persone, ma sanno perfettamente chi sono gli uomini, e non hanno una buona opinione di loro.

Sapphire e Connor, i protagonisti, (2 fratelli che vivono in un piccolo paesino sulle coste della Cornovaglia) hanno la fortuna di incontrare due creature di Ingo. La sirena Elvira e suo fratello Faro, che diventano rispettivamente amici di Connor e Sapphire, insegnando loro che sono in grado di respirare sott'acqua. Sapphire e Connor sono geneticamente diversi perchè in parte discendono dal popolo del mare, visto che un loro antenato ebbe un figlio da una sirena.

Tuttavia Ingo può diventare pericoloso, perchè il tempo sott'acqua scorre in maniera diversa (come ad Avalon) e induce l'oblio. Un minuto in Ingo può corrispondere ad ore passate sulla terra. E gli umani che non sanno resistere al richiamo degli abissi, finiscono inevitabilmente per perdersi in Ingo senza lasciare più traccia. E' così per Sapphire, per la quale Ingo diventauna vera e propria droga (anche perchè Faro non sembra molto intenzionato a lasciarla andare). Per Connor le cose sono diverse, lui possiede infatti degli strani poteri legati alla terra che gli consentono di mantenere la lucidità e resistere alla voce di Ingo. Sarà lui, in diverse occasioni a far tornare in se la sua sorellina "Sapphire svegliati, tu non sei un pesce".

Questo a grandi linee e il contesto in cui si svolge la storia, di cui non ti svelo la trama. Non si sa mai che qualche anima pia decida di tradurlo in italiano.

Io comunque te lo stra-consiglio, è una storia incantevole.

Anyway, I don't know, I've only read the first novel so far, but I believe that he calls her "little sister" just to tease her. I'll buy the following books as soon as all the paperback editions will be out, to match with the first one on my bookshelf .

But indeed Faro seems to know something Sapphire still ignores.....
