For my friend , who's always so nice and shares my love for Lucy Maud Montgomery's novels .
The girl in the picture is Emily Starr, a character from LMM's New Moon books (nothing to do with Twilight ). This series is less famous than her other masterpiece "Anne of Green Gables", but all the same interesting. Out of curiosity, Montgomery always said that was Emily, not Anne, her true fictional alter-ego.
The story is set in Prince Edward Island, considered the garden of Canada because of its mild weather and beautiful Nature. I've tried to portray the moment in which Summer slowly gives place to Autumn. It's still warm, but the trees start to change the colors of their leaves creating a strange contrast between red and green tones.
Anyway, this is just an experiment, and my very first attempt in drawing Emily too. So, her appearence could change in the future. ^.^
Ah, I love the drawing. ^^ I looooove Montgomery's work to death.~ Especially this series. When I look at the author's comment here, I think "Do we have the same mind??" Ah, but I really like this. ^^

Indeed we share the same mind, the one of a Kindred Spirit And thank you for your visit and kind words. I love to read other Mongomery fellow-fan comments, I adore this author to bits.
Anyway, sorry for the late reply, I rarely come to Deviant Art at the moment
