Tiriki (Eilantha) and Micail (Osinarmen) are two characters created by Marion Zimmer Bradley for her Avalon series. They appeared first as children in “The fall of Atlantis” and then came back later in the following novel “Ancestors of Avalon”(Completed by Diana Paxton after MZB’s Death).

The latter book tells ow two different groups of Atlantis’ survivors built the sites which will be known by future generations as Stonehenge and Avalon. The first group tried to keep the old way of living, greedy and racist, while the second wanted to left behind the prejudices and the social divisions of before. When they finally met and fight, using the same telluric energies which already destroyed Atlantis, instead of repeat history they gave up war once for all. Then they melt with the local Neolithic tribes, giving birth to what will be later recognized as “Celtic Culture”.

Per chi conosce I libri di Marion Zimmer Bradley immagino che I nomi Tiriki e Micail non abbiano bisogno di presentazioni.

Per tutti gli altri invece posso dire, senza scivolare nello spoiler che si tratta di due personaggi che appaiono nel ciclo di Avalon, creato da Marion Zimmer Bradley e Diana Paxson. Sono semplici comprimari ne “Le Luci di Atlantide” e invece protagonisti de“L’Alba di Avalon”.

In quest’ultimo romanzo si racconta l’inabissamento del continente perduto, e di come i suoi superstiti dopo aver raggiunto le coste dell’antica Britannia abbiano costruito i siti di Stonhenge ed Avalon, dando vita alla cultura celtica.
